The aim of this paper is to explore and analyze different forms based on mood and aspect markers which express volitional modality in Modern Uyghur. In Uyghur, various grammatical moods such as the hypothetic (i.e. conditional), the optative, the imperative and the voluntative, as well as the aorist form, can, in combination with different grammatical elements, participate in indicating volition.
