The case forms attaching to the possessive suffixes of the third person are one of the most important dialect features of the Ičkilik dialect of the Kirghiz language. Ičkilik is one of the main clans in southern Kyrgyzstan. One subclan of the Ičkilik clan is the Qϊpčaq, consisting of nine small tribes. Eight of these tribes live in the Batken region: Noyġut, Avat, Boston, Naymandar, Töölöstör, Tazdar, Šerdener, and Boz Qara. The Batken dialect, one of the least explored dialect of Kyrgyz, has some distinctive features. The goal of this paper is to analyse the case forms following the possessive suffixes of the third person in the Batken dialect and to compare them with those of standard Kirghiz and the neighbouring languages Uzbek and Modern Uyghur. The paper is based on fieldwork materials collected by the author in the Batken region and in villages near the Batken region in 2010 and 2011.
